The FDA's recent advisory about toothpaste "made in China" Does Not Apply to Oravive Products

Dear Oravive Customer,
Many of you have seen recent news reports regarding safety concerns for toothpaste made in China These concerns relate specifically to the potential contamination of the glycerin used (this is the same concern mentioned in similar stories of a few weeks ago regarding cough syrup made in China). Since our Oravive Tooth Revitalizing Paste is made in China and contains glycerin, it would be natural for our customers to be concerned. I am writing to reassure you that there are no such safety issues with our products.
The glycerin concern is with a contaminant called diethylene glycol, or “DEG” for short. We maintain extremely strict quality control over our product so that we can assure you this is not, and will not, be an issue with our products. This quality control has 3 main elements:
1. We use an excellent manufacturing facility, certified to international standards. Our facility is FDA-registered, quite new and professionally run. There are many facilities in China which are old, run-down and run by questionable operators, and we believe this is where the tainted products which you’ve been hearing about come from.
2. We import our glycerin into China. We purchase our Glycerin from Cognis Corp, a very large, reputable German-based company. It is imported directly to our facility and does not pass through Chinese middle-men. In light of the current concerns, we have done an audit of the “chain-of-control” of the glycerin from our factory all the way back to the Cognis factory, and are confident that it is top-quality, unadulterated, material.
3. We test our finished product here in the US. We test every batch in a number of rigorous ways. This testing specifically includes testing for “DEG”, performed by a certified third-party lab. There is none in our products.
